This approach is suitable only when your source water has already been verified as safe for human consumption (e.g., meets national drinking water standards for raw water) and contains stable mineral profiles without excessive hardness, iron, or manganese that could foul membranes or affect taste. The NF stage selectively rejects divalent ions (like sulfate or calcium above threshold levels) but allows monovalent minerals (such as potassium and sodium) to pass, maintaining the water’s natural character.
Implementation requires: (1) a recent, comprehensive source water quality report; (2) clear definition of target product standards (e.g., GB 8537 for Chinese natural mineral water or equivalent); (3) confirmation of bottle type (e.g., 18.9 L PC barrel or PET bottle) and production capacity (200–1,800 bottles/hour for 18.9 L format).
