How much factory space and utility conditions are needed before installing a water filling line?

Answer: The required factory space for a water filling line depends on the production capacity, bottle size, and integration of auxiliary systems such as water treatment units and clean air purification. For a fully automatic bottled water filling line with a rated output of 200–2,500 bottles/hour (based on 18.9 L bottles), a dedicated area of approximately 150 m² is typically needed, including clearance for equipment layout, maintenance access, and future expansion. Space requirements increase when integrating ISO Class 8 cleanroom systems due to ductwork, HEPA filtration, and pressure zoning.

Key Conditions & Preparation Requirements

  • Space Layout: Install the line in a dry, level, and well-ventilated area with at least 1.5 meters of clearance around all sides for safe operation, maintenance, and equipment access. The facility must allow for modular setup and potential upgrades.
  • Utility Stability: A stable 3-phase power supply (≥380V, 50Hz) is required for continuous operation. Compressed air must be oil-free and delivered at sufficient pressure to support pneumatic components in the filling and capping system. Water quality must meet inlet specifications for reverse osmosis or nanofiltration systems—typically with TDS below 500 ppm and pH between 6 and 8.
